Two Rights and a Wrong

Written by:

i have always been taught that two wrongs don’t make a right

an idiom weaving sense into our moral reality

using mathematical laws

to explain concepts that cannot be assigned numerical values

at what point do we question maths?

perhaps the reckoning is already upon us.

once, a story was told

a story of goodness and light

the light of the moon even,

how it danced around a lonely room

sparkling and flowing,

a beauty only found in divinity.

there is divinity in all that we experience

not a single corner of existence

left untouched by the hand that crafts all.

an artist of his own volition

art that moves those who take care to notice

art that must be protected,

guardians of the sun and the moon

maintaining reflections of humanity

cast in goodness and light

transcending the ordinary

to be met by two angels,

whispers of good will and prosperity

no name was uttered in vain.

safety. peace. security.

rejoice and be glad

the visitation of a demon is much less joyful

they may wear the mask of an angel

but tread carefully,

as this mask may have been ripped from its previous owner

an act of violence

destroying benevolence

the wrath of the devil

though deceptive

bringing anguish

despair

fear

was also given to him by god

for it is understood,

the presence of goodness holds so much more weight

following suffering

the duality of experience

so no,

two wrongs do not make a right

and two rights do not make a wrong

but the presence of both allows the continued existence of light in this world

after all,

to love and to lose, and to still be kind?

a faith that allows us to carry on.
